Our Team

Naji

I started AskMeMath with one goal of making math easy for all. Math has become a monster to kids and I want to change this mentality by proving the opposite.

Asmara

Hi! My name is Asmara and I’m a biology student at UBC. I have multiple years of math tutoring experience as well as teaching karate and tennis. I love watching students improve their skills and succeed! Aside from tutoring, I enjoy martial arts, motorcycling and travelling.

Nyamat

Hi! I’m Nyamat, a Statistics student at the University of British Columbia with over four years of tutoring experience across a range of grade levels. Through my work with STEMastery, UBC Geering Up, and ENGin, I’ve developed a strong passion for making STEM concepts accessible, engaging, and approachable for students of all ages. I believe in creating a supportive learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, building their understanding, and developing strong problem-solving skills. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy going on long walks, playing tennis, and listening to music.

Noah

My name is Noah and my post-secondary studies were in Mathematics, Linguistics, and Music. After my studies, I had the opportunity to present my work uniting math and music in conferences and festivals in Mexico, USA, Austria, and Croatia, as well as grant funding to continue studying in Mexico, Japan, and West Africa. I found a love for math through my joy of puzzles, games, and art, which can all be explored through art. In addition to helping students navigate their school work, I hope to help them find beauty in math so they can enjoy the world of numbers and patterns. My most recent hobby is studying the shakuhachi flute.

Nadine

Hi, I’m Nadine! I am a student at UBC with a strong passion for math and science. I deeply enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for these subjects and helping students build confidence academically while making sure they are actively engaged in their learning. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing piano, music, and psychology.
